When the right space pilot walks into his bar, a desperate bartender uses all his wiles (and tentacles) to talk the man into business and his bed--but the spacer is still enslaved by his past and isn't sure he can deal with a two-handed lover, much less one with six. When the supply shipments stop coming, Teo Houdin needs all his tentacles to keep his waystation bar open. Facing a riot by thirsty miners stranded in the backwater of the galaxy, Teo helps a greenie space pilot buy a ship in return for a regular haul of liquor. But he longs for the courage to invite the enigmatic spacer to fill his lonely bed as well. Still smarting from his newly implanted navigational ports, Jimenez knows owning his own ship will prevent him from ever being bought and sold again. For a former slave, transporting cargo through the emptiness of space sounds like paradise, but after meeting the compassionate and sexy Teo, his heart feels empty, too. At the edge of the galaxy's spiral arm, can Teo convince Jimenez that the heart has its own tentacles and theirs should be entwined forever?

An emphasis on the people rather than the science, with an interesting spectrum of human nature By BookCat Length: 34,000 wordsFrom the blurb and cover, I wasn't sure if "The Klockwerk Kraken" would be just sex or have a plot and good characters. Luckily, it was the second."The Klockwerk Kraken" has an emphasis on the people rather than the science and shows an interesting spectrum of human nature—from the fact slavery still exists in some systems to Teo’s enormous, close family. Jimenez's story is sad but also uplifting, and Teo (a descendent of genetically altered humans) is interesting and relatable. Both have earned their way to where they are (for different reasons), and while Teo is relatively happy with his bar (apart from the delivery issues), Jimenez still struggles to free himself from his past and the effects it has on his mind. The ‘verse was well thought out, the geography researched, and the cultures interesting. For a novella, "The Klockwerk Kraken" actually covers a fair number of events and I enjoyed it enough that it is now permanently on my ereader. I also looked up the author’s other stories. Definitely a good read for any sci-fi/futuristic/fantasy story lovers.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Do yourself a favor and read it. By Angel_T Imagine reading a story set so far in the future that it's hard to comprehend. People aren't just people. They're spacers, Pods, and ex-slaves. Two of these just happen to meet in a wonderful little bar called the Kraken. Both characters (Jimenez and Teo) have complex backgrounds. They're also relatable. Anyone that's survived extremely traumatic events can find a bit of themselves in Jimenez. Honestly, Jimenez was my most favorite character. He's struggled through so much and managed to come out on top. Aidee Ladiner has definitely outdone herself with this story!! I loved it!! It's one of the better sci-fi stories that I've read lately because it tosses you in this world, but gives you all the pieces you need to understand it. To know what's going on and live in the story with the characters. The pace flows nicely; however, page 100 on is guaranteed to make you cry. If you're human. I definitely shed a few tears during the trial. There are so many different themes filtered in through the story. The programming associated with years of abuse, finally being overcome for starters. It' amazing seeing the characters grow and change into the strong well defined individuals that are loved by readers. Aidee certainly knew what she was doing when she wrote these characters. I hope she continues more of this wonderful world!!

Teo is such an open and warm person. Jimenez is more closed off, but very determined. They have such an interesting story. It definitely was a different perspective. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys sci-fi, paranormal, and/or erotica. Aidee Ladnier did an awesome job writing such a compelling story. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher through Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

A Great How-To By Ink Blot This is a great first step for those interested in self-publishing and curious about the process of registering an ISBN number or obtaining copyrights. Mercer does a fine job of outlining the basics of how exactly this process applies to you and will benefit you and your book in the long run, as well as how it applies in the international marketplace. Mercer writes clearly, and although this guide is short, she includes vital information that will remain useful and relevant to self-publishers for a long time.

Practical tips on book publishing, including registering ISBN's and Copyrights in all countries By Wayne Joe Evans I really found this book useful and informative.I have been an author for some time now and I must confess I didn't know any of the tips and tricks that Dorothy highlights (particularly Createspace.com).If you are a new author, this is a 'must read' and indeed, even if you have been publishing for some time (like me), it is absolutely worth the price you pay. There are techniques in here that could grow your book income substantially.

"She was like the dawn, insubstantial and somehow transient, as though she would fade from reality at any moment.” A novella of love, life and death. Every day the villagers watch as Death, a spectral suit of black armour mounted upon a horse, rides through the valley beneath their mountain top home. After a lifetime living on the edge of Death’s domain, his close proximity is neither terrible or threatening, rather he has become a simple fact of life and a familiar neighbour. Nothing seems to change until one night a young boy, alone in the meadows beneath a summer moon, watches a mysterious figure in white approaching the village through the tall grass. That fateful night culminates in a love story that crosses the borders between the village and the valley, childhood and adulthood, and even life and death.

The Great and Awesome Name of God! Psalm 9:10 – “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” All through scripture, in difficult circumstances, the King of Glory magnified His Great and Awesome Name for those who knew His Name, adored His Name and called out to Him. He IS the Attribute and Characteristic of All His Great Names. He is our Shield; He is our Deliverer; He is our Refuge; He is our Strength; He is our Provider; He is our Healer; He is the Fortress around us; He is the Defense of our life. It is His outstretched arm and mighty hand that saves and delivers us. There is none other Who is All Powerful, All Present, All Knowing, and Immutable. He is The Sovereign Eternal Most High God Who created all things. In the last days, scripture tells us that lawlessness will abound, will increase and the hearts of many will grow cold. This describes those who gaze at the lawlessness, the natural circumstances, and the bitterness spewing from the spirit of the world causing the heart to callous and grow cold. For those who do not know the glory of Him Who sits on the Most High Throne, this will be devastating. Those who know the Most High and the glory of His Great Name are those who will do mighty exploits during times of lawlessness. They will have rivers of living waters flowing from them and will burn with passion for His glory, even unto death. I am convinced your heart will be radiant, vibrant, alive and full of light as you grow to understand this incredible God we serve and the Glory of His Name. Your heart will not grow cold if you seek to know Him, His ways and the glory of His Names. This study guide, if used daily, will help you grow in understanding this incredible God we serve and the glory of His Great and Awesome Name.

By Mark Dalluge “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” ― A.W. Tozer Love this workbook, so much so, had to give away my first copy so I am ordering more. Reflecting on God and who He is...learning to align with His nature rather than our circumstances is so prevalent in this workbook. When you think of a devotional, you think of a book where you read and just think about what you read. This book allows you to read, contemplate, study and then reflect/journal within the workbook the things the Holy Spirit is teaching you. By having the Strong's reference you can go deeper in your understanding, or you can just read the scriptures the author has collected concerning the specific name of God you are studying. Let them praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven. Psalm 148:13

This is the third and final book in The Cabbottown Witch Series and is the prequel to the award-winning, Angela’s Coven. This is Angela’s Story and fills in all the missing chapters of her time with Aunt Maddy and the coven from the tragedy of World War I, through the turmoil and glamour of the Roaring Twenties. Here, you will meet those who shaped her life before there was ever that little magic shop in Greenwich Village. You’ll meet a gangster with best intentions, a madam with a heart of gold, a whole new coven of witches, a deeply-conflicted Angel, the tugboat captain who was the love of her life and the child they shared. There is also Mr. Ajax, the right hand man of Lucifer himself. This is a story of love and loss, in a time when everything was on the line in the great battle between good and evil. You’ll find unlikely heroes and surprising villains. And here, between the lines, we may all find a little bit of ourselves. It is not necessary to read the other two books in this series first. But you might enjoy it even more if you did so…

The Ragtime Coven: Angela's Story (The Cabbottown Witch Novels Book 3), by Bruce Jenvey

About the Author Bruce Jenvey was raised in rural Michigan with a great interest in history, popular culture, and the paranormal. After twenty years in the advertising industry, he founded Great Lakes Cruiser Magazine and spent the next decade traveling the region as both historian and journalist. Along the way, Bruce had unique access to untold incidents and documentation of the unexplained. He collected and chronicled these experiences in every place he found them, from the shores of Lake Michigan to Upstate New York. As he did so, he was struck by how consistent and similar these accounts were from region to region leading him to the conclusion that all we see, may not be all there is to know... Today, Bruce is the award-winning author of Angela’s Coven, and the Cabbottown Witch Novels as well as other tales of the paranormal. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Ragtime Coven By Lois Krieger I loved it! I wasn't sure how you were going to present the story, but loved the weaving and intricacies of the presentation. I am usually a fast reader, but was determined to take my time and absorb the story as it unfolded. The story melded together so well that I never felt that I was being left 'hanging' at any time. It was great to finally have the 'whole' picture of Angela and her family, the Hodell's, and the friends that helped keep everyone together as best as possible and thwart Lucifer and Mr. Ajax as well. Angela had a lot on her plate during that time and it was refreshing to see how that tied in with her story in 'Angela's Coven'. I'm just sorry that there will no longer be anymore books in this series. But, I am looking forward to the next chapter on whatever series you decide to write in the future.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Jenvey goes Three for Three! By vettedrummer Once more Mr. Jenvey has written a bewitching story of the Coven. This time the book opens your eyes to everything that you may have wondered about in his first two novels. Jenvey's characters are so real. Once you've finished the first chapter you're hooked and can't wait to find out what happens next. I thought this book was never going to be finished, but then when I got my hands on it I found out why it took Bruce so long to write. It's has as many pages as an old Sears catalog! Only thing is, the story his words paint makes you wish it could go forever. If you haven't read his first two books then go ahead and read this one first and then the next two in order. Doing it this way allows for everything to fall into place as you move through the story lines. Thanks Bruce for some really entertaining reading.

"The Ragtime Coven" was expertly and awsomley persented to weave the back story of the first two books together. It was an amazing love story that let you in on all the emotions. As you read, you cannot wait for the next sentence. Each book stands alone with its own story, so you can start with any one of the three. Take my advise, start with "Angela's Coven", once you read one you will want to read them all. I have purchased extra copys for gifts. Can't wait for the movies!! :) This are witches like none you have seen lately in lit or film. Bruce you deserve all the accalades you get. Love the touch of "Home."

Free PDF Ebook Online Sunday Meetin' Time: The Little Church on the Hill, by Patricia Mccullough Walston

Sunday Meetin’ Time is a compelling story written in the same vein as I’d Climb the Highest Mountain or The Waltons. It is adapted from the widely read online series of short stories written by Ms. Walston several years ago, Sunday Meetin’ Time.

Nestled in a low valley beneath the foothills of a small mountain range, you will find life happening everywhere. An intimate, riveting story of a bygone era set in the late 1930s and early 1940s, Sunday Meetin’ Time reveals the lives of the Alrod family, their church, and their friends.

An immigrant grandfather from Ireland settled the farm that would remain for over 150 years. The side effects of this book will cause you to sob at the family’s losses and laugh at their antics as they praise God through it all in the “little church on the hill.” Herman Alrod is a corn farmer by heritage and inheritance. He becomes the reluctant pastor of the “little church on the hill.”

This book is a remembrance to those who have fond memories of this era. It will enlighten those who come behind them with the history, poems, songs, scripture, romance, mystery, and adventure of bygone days. America was made strong by families who worshiped in small rural churches, honored God, loved their families, and respected their country. Could America be saved by the same?

You will love and laugh at five-year-old LeRoy and his hijinks.

We were in church every Sunday and we came home afterwards to my Granny's wonderful dinner. We would spend the afternoon together and go back to church on Sunday night. Mrs. Walston captured the feeling of the good ole days for me. This book kept me so interested that i could not put it down! i stayed up until 5 am reading about this precious family, The Alrods! i can not wait to see what happens in Book 2.... i plan to buy it tomorrow~ anyone who wants to read a great book about a family who is a lot like the families we grew up knowing, you should read this wonderful book.

From Ireland to America By Patsy Walston I read a wee bit of your book every night at bed time , got to about 50 pages , your characters seem so real , the life you are describing is so like ours in the 1950's, when people did not have much and made do and mend . Although your family have been in America for some generations it seems that the traditions have traveled through each generation, I liked the part about going to church in your Sunday best it was the same here .Looking forward to more reading .Hope you are wellRoselind
