The questions and comments are very insightful and thought provoking. I am using this a my morning devotional, and it really makes me think.I would recommend this book for new Christians who want to understand Jesus' teachings, and also for seasoned Christians, to go deeper into the verses than you have gone before.I like that the book harmonizes the Gospels, putting the words of Jesus together when they appear in more than one Gospel. It helps to see the nuances of the focus of each writer. Same story, different witness, different audience to whom it was written.

All that glitters is not gold…unless you're talking about these five ADULT fairy tales. Join our princes and princesses as they escape assassins, knock boots, chase gold, protect trees, and enjoy life to its fullest. These steamy fairy tales will make your heart pound and your temperature rise on the journey to happily ever after. Hunter's Mark by V.S. Morgan Artist Casey Smith lives a quiet life, under the radar of his enemies, until one fateful night he loses control and the astonishing image of a wolf racing down a suburban street splashes all over social media. Hunter's bullet never misses its target. The assassin seeks out and kills his prey with a clear conscience by following two simple rules: 1) Don't kill innocents. 2) Don't kill shifters. “What do you do when the man you were sent to kill doesn't fit the profile of the scum you're used to offing? What if his scent drives you crazy? What if his smile and laugh melt your frozen heart? How about if you discover someone else is trying to kill him? I loved this story.” ~Deirdre Knockin’ Boots by Desiree Holt For years, Dan and Kylie Franklin have searched for someone who can fill in all the missing blanks in their situation. When fate brings Clint Gorman into their lives, the instant attraction runs hot and deep. After a night of intense, sweaty sex, there’s no doubt he’s the one for them. But when Clint’s past comes to light, they’re forced to decide whether or not the connection they felt is enough to keep the three of them together. “Now this is what I call a fairy tale. I loved the story...I encourage you to get this book now. It's worth your time and effort. It is a quick read, just enough for an afternoon. Desiree Holt writes great books and this one fits right in with all her others.” ~Elaine Chasing Gold by Alexa Bourne Grace McKay spends most of her time alone trying to convince the world she’s strong enough and smart enough to become one of the best treasure hunters. According to the media, though, all she’s managed to prove is she’s a frigid, narrow-minded woman who doesn’t have a chance to succeed in her current hunt. “Alexa Bourne takes readers on a treasure hunt in this fantastic suspense story…I love that this story had so much emotion, passion and adventure. If you are looking for some steamy escapade full of romance this is one to read.” ~Night Owl Reviews The Century Sage by Vicki Ballante Lina is a tree sage, a gifted person who heals trees, but her duty binds her to one place for her whole life until she marries. Tree sages must marry and birth a daughter by twenty-eight, even if true love is out of the picture. When hot rally winner Brad meets her, he is drawn to her mystical powers. Lina can’t resist the man who represents something she shouldn’t go for, but neither can she turn away his sexy touch. Brad offers to marry her and take her on a world-wide rally tour. She can fulfill her dream of traveling, and he provides a way to meet the demands of her breed, but will that be enough? What about love? “Really pulled at my heartstrings...Vicki writes wonderful stories, I look forward to reading more of her work.” ~Vanessa Razor by Jon Keys When the world crashes down around your ears, sometimes all you can do is punt and hope for the best. That’s exactly what James and Micah decide to do when one of them is diagnosed with cancer, and the other discovers a serious heart defect. When the doctor tells them to start working on their bucket lists, the two take a trip in an effort to create some good memories, and forget the ugly truths, while they focus on their time in each other’s arms. “What an intense, gorgeous story… the range of emotions is realistic. Even in such a short space, we see just how deeply these men love each other.” ~InkedRainbowReads

By Romance addict I really enjoyed this box set some of the authors I had read and as always Desiree Holt did not let me down. And some I was new too and would read again. V.S. Morgan I loved her book more then I can say. If you are looking for a spin on fairytales that you might not have read and some serious thinking outside the box this is an enjoyable and sexy set.

Review Reviewed by Vernita Naylor for Readers' Favorite (This is a free review, the reviewer was not paid for this review.)  Excerpts provided here:    4 star review! As we are growing both physically and mentally, we always need someone in our lives to help us to transition through each stage of life.  Sissel suddenly passed away, leaving Lina distraught. In Sissel's will she left a special gift for Lina, a trunk with a diary that held the secrets of Sissel's life. The diary was a way for Sissel and Lina to still be able to connect. This trunk provided Lina with more information that she could ever imagine about life, love and decisions. Catch Me When I Fall by Ceanmohrlass is a beautifully written story because it reminded me of the challenges of interpersonal relationships. Within these three generational cycles, each female had an essence of self-discovery at which time levels of becoming stagnant or growth occurs. With Lina receiving the trunk and diary from Sissel, she was able to discover more in-depth knowledge of how things transpired between her mother and grandmother which caused them to be at odds and estranged. Because of Sissel, Lina was able to begin to see her mother in a different light and respect her for the person that she was, not only as a mother but as a person who also had flaws. If you are looking for a beautiful short story, get a copy of Catch Me When I Fall by Ceanmohrlass - you may be able to see some things about your own family generational cycle.

Sissel was that for Lina. In the short story Catch Me When I Fall by Ceanmohrlass, Lina adored her dad, Karl, but the person who was instrumental in her life was Sissel, her grandmother. Lina felt estranged from her mother, Anna, which was the same type of relationship that Anna had with her own mother, Sissel. As the relationship between Sissel and Lina began to develop and grow strong, Sissel suddenly passed away, leaving Lina distraught. Friendship and society By Lisa F- Bookworm Lisa Two young women separated by social class but are the best of friends weather the social constraints of 1800's British society. Both have secrets that are kept from them about their birth, that have the potential to change their lives forever.Josephine is a stunning woman who is spoiled and willful. She is being raised by members of the gentry, and has come to expect and demand attention and a lifestyle of privilege. Katherine is humble and loyal. She has been raised without money, and knows her place in society. Their rank doesn't stop the two girls from becoming the best of friends. This book is about two girls who have different upbringings but experience many similarities. Both fall in love, but not with the right men in societies rules. In many ways Josephine acts like a child, she lashes out and hurts her friends, but knows she is wrong and seeks forgiveness. In some ways I liked that message, that true friends love and forgive each other. Josephine had many hard lessons to learn about friendship and how unforgiving society can be when your fortunes change.Katherine is the real gem in the book. She is the kind of friend that everyone wants to have. She drops her own plans and dreams to help out another. Her romance is the tender and sweet one of the book. She is the one that you really want to see have a happily ever after. Not that I didn't wish for Josephine to find her happiness, Katherine is the prominent character for me.The book has roaming hands, innuendo, and the mention of incest. It doesn't take things farther than that,I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

One mother dies in childbirth and the other mother is forced to give up her child.Kate grows up in a life of poverty while Josie lives in the lap of luxury. Kate is the lady’s maid in the same house as Josie so they become best of friends. Even though it is unheard of for a servant to become educated, Josie insists that her friend be allowed to attend classes with her. If the secret of their lives at birth become known, it could change their friendship forever. Will they ever learn the secret of their birth? Will Josie marry well? These are questions that will be answered as you turn the pages of “The Lady’s Maid”.I was captivated from page one. I felt the anguish of the mother having to give up her child at birth and the sorrow of the young mother who died in childbirth. I love historical fiction and this book was not a disappointment. I am a fan of the contrast between the classes of the English. This was a book that I certainly wanted to curl up with a comforter and a cup of tea so I could lose myself in the storyline. For anyone who enjoys historical fiction this is a must read.Disclosure: I was given a copy of this eBook by the publisher, Random House UK – North America, through NetGalley blogger program for review. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. An author that can create distasteful characters and still keep a reader engaged and interested in the next turn of the page By Gaele Two girls, born within hours of one another and sent to different fates: the lowly born child is taken to be raised with the gentry, while the other is raised to a life of servitude. The two are familiar with one another from early on, yet never did they suspect the secrets behind their conception.Josie was raised in privilege and sadly, that makes for a very distasteful and spoiled character, it is to Court’s credit that she can make such a dislikable character work throughout the story, and not have readers turning away. Kate is everything that one would want in a daughter: kind, honest and above all, gentle in spirit. The contrast between the two girls, and Kate’s unflinching acceptance of Josie’s bad manners and biting remarks are often painful to read, but give Kate far more interest in the story than one would have expected from a servant. And while this book carries a strong feeling of the upstairs downstairs vibe: the distinctions between acceptable behavior and appropriate responses, as well as the very real limitations on changing one’s place in society are distinct and clearly presented from several angles, showing the author’s familiarity with the era.Of course both girls are of marriageable age, and there is a sweetly defined romance for them both, with men well suited to their personalities and positions in the societal hierarchy. The second book that I have read from Dilly Court, and it was enjoyable and enchanting from the start. Characters are well defined and presented; personalities are developed and displayed with action and dialog that feel realistic to both time and circumstance. An author that can create distasteful characters and still keep a reader engaged and interested in the next turn of the page is one to be savored and enjoyed.I received an eBook copy of the title via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Valesha from Platypire Reviews By Valesha **I was given a free copy of this ebook in exchange for honest review**I’ve gone back and forth on what to rate this book over the last couple of days. On the one hand, the book is incredibly well done, the narrative flows together to create a vivid “movie of the mind” that, once started, you won’t be able to put down until its conclusion. On the other hand, the underlying concept behind the main romantic couple is … deeply disturbing. I might need therapy to recover.Ultimately, I decided that the fact that I was sucked in enough to BE disturbed by them is just another feather in this book’s cap. The story had excellent pacing, and it was easy to picture each character, how they felt and thought. It has something for everyone, with just the right amount of romance, suspense, horror, and mystery. It is truly a unique read with lore and preternatural creatures unlike any I’ve ever seen. The editing was well done, and aside from a few sporadic typos, I do not have much to report there. I rate His Cemetery Doll by Brantwijn Serrah 5 Platypires!

Like presents under the tree, I resist the urge to peek, shake and rattle the present, preferring instead to enjoy the surprise that comes from opening the package. For this reason, I don’t research the author or the book before reading it. When the pages start turning, there is a 50/50 chance you will get a soft cardigan to wrap up in, or another ugly sweater from Great Aunt Nettie that hurts your eyes. You know the one, that monstrosity that you can’t shove back into the box fast enough. When the offer went out for a review copy of Brantwijn Serrah’s ‘His Cemetery Doll’, I jumped at the chance. As a suspense/horror/science fiction buff, the name alone had my attention. This particular present proved to be a cardigan, with some serious surprises. There were only a few pulled threads that kept it from getting the full five stars.‘His Cemetery Doll’ is a haunting story about a grave keeper, trying to do what is best for his daughter while his world – and sanity – begin to unravel and he comes face to face with true evil. Most of those pulled threads I mentioned were the product of the pre-zone first chapters. A few word choices that were a little jarring, some discontinuity, and the initial backstory delivered with static exposition. As the story progressed and the author hit her stride, her true talents quickly took center stage. The characters were well developed, the plot was well-timed with surprising twists, and her descriptions were a testament to her skill as a writer. Just as my suspicions were confirmed, the plot twists carried me in a new and more disturbing direction.Did I mention I didn’t peek before opening this present? ‘His Cemetery Doll’ was my first sojourn into paranormal erotic romance. As surprised as I was, I thought the sex scenes were well timed and served the story well, shooting the creepiness factor of this book from a 6 to a full 10.Ms. Brantwijn Serrah and her genre, have a new fan. This talented author has nowhere to go but up and I look forward to seeing her develop as a writer.

By MRS M D ATTENBOROUGH Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books.Don't you just love it when someone comes up with something different!! I've filed this under horror and paranormal, because, for me, it covers both bases so beautifully!!Conall is working the grave yard, raisng his daughter as best he can. The local priest wants Shyla to join the Sisters up the road, to learn nursing. Conall is not best pleased by the idea. He is also struggling with the over growing weeds and vines, that seem to double in size over night. Thrown in that Shyla is seeing a woman in the grave yard, and then Conall starts seeing her too, he is just about at the end of his tether.Set some time after the Second World War, it doesn't say exactly, it has elements of horror, scary stuff for 13 year old Shyla. Elements of paranormal, the doll in the graveyard. And ghosts too! Little bit of everything, throw in a nutty priest, and you got such a good book!!It didn't go the way I thought it would, I couldn't see what the priest was up to, at all. So, I LOVED that surprise, I really did.It is only told from Conall's POV. It is in the third person, but still I would have liked to have heard from the doll, oh, the doll especially! and from Shyla too. But thats just me, I know I know. But I gotta say it!I don't always read the bit at the back of the book, but I did hear. It tells that this story had been brewing for a long time in the author's world. I'd just like to say, well done for sticking with it, I really enjoyed it!!4.5 stars**same worded review appears on Goodreads, Amazon.com and Amamzon.co.uk**
