What Could Possibly Go Wrong???: How To Go From Completely Clueless To Totally Prepared, by Survivor Jane

Review "Jane brings a tremendous amount of authenticity to the subject since her books are a direct reflection of her chosen lifestyle - What she describes in her books is how she actually lives" - Richard Duarte, Author of Surviving An Urban Disaster: Quick-Start Guide"Survivor Jane covers many unpleasant subjects in a matter-of-fact way in order to drive the point home." - Bobby Akart, Author of The Loyal Nine and Cyber-Attack (The Boston Brahmin Series)  "The book reads like someone has come to her asking for her expert opinions on a variety of subjects the week before a hurricane impacts or after all the shocking media headlines finally have caused them to decide that they need to ready themselves and their families for the dangers of this modern society" - Ron Foster, Bestselling Author of The Possum Prepper Guide and Doing The Apocalypse Shuffle "Another thing I like about the book is the frank and no-nonsense tone in which Survivor Jane brings up subjects that are left out of many survival books, with lots of humor throughout." - Bernie Carr, Bestselling Author of The Prepper's Pocket Guide: 101 Easy Things You Can Do to Ready Your Home for a Disaster

From the Author While enjoying a fun-filled week visit with my two city-dwelling, non-preparedness-minded sisters - shopping, eating at great restaurants and laughing at the silliest of things like sisters do, it dawned on me just how deep in the sand my head must have been before starting my journey into preparedness. It was like going back in time as I watched them shop, shop and shop some more.  My sisters, as I once was, were totally in the dark as to what was going on around them.  They knew little to nothing of politics and current or world events, and they were none the worst for it - or so they thought.  When I would subtlety try to share current events, I was met with a pause in conversation and a "dog with its head cocked" look by both of them before the discussion would giddily reverted back to the latest movie, newest gadget or celebrity crisis of the month. "Was I that naive?" Thinking back, the answer is yes - I was that naive.  My life consisted of family, working, shopping, eating and socializing (with an emphasis on the latter three.)  What more did I need?  After all what ... could possible go wrong?  I have since learned that a lot can go wrong, from our unstable weather patterns, to terrorism, to government not being able to come and save us during a disasters; natural and man-made.  A lot can go wrong. So, as a continuation to my mission on educating as many as possible on disaster and survival preparedness on my website survivorjane.com, public speaking and on preparedness social media networks, my new book "What Could Possibly Go Wrong??" was written with those just starting our in mind - like my sisters.  I "talk to the readers" in my book as one friend would to another, in simple to understand terms about disasters and what they might do to get started on their own personal preparedness journey.  My books, "Where There Is No Cosmetic Counter" and the 1st revision, "Emergency/Survival Hygiene" were the direct result of a major concern of mine that survival hygiene was taking a backseat to other basic needs of survival.  In  these books I show how you can use simple ordinary items that you would normally have in your pantry to make emergency hygiene products to keep you and your family clean and healthy - after all, infectious disease is the number one killer nationwide.

But for many people just getting started often seems overwhelming. Where do you start? What are you supposed do and more importantly, how should you to do it? In that confusion and frustration many folks just give up and decide that it's not worth the effort; this is always a very big mistake. Enter Survivor Jane. "What Can Possibly Go Wrong" (WCPGW) is Jane's latest book. She has also written two other very practical books - "Emergency Survival Hygiene" and "Where There Is No Cosmetic Counter." All of her books are straight forward, easy to read, and jam packed with useful information. Jane bring a tremendous amount of authenticity to the subject since her books are a direct reflection of her chosen lifestyle - What she describes in her books is how she actually lives. This latest book is an excellent example of the ease with which she can make the complicated easy. WCPGW is a great book for anyone getting started. It breaks down the various topics into well organized, easy to digest chapters. From Self-defense to survival mind-set and everything in between. I recommend all her books. You will not only learn many practical skills, but you will add them to your library and use them as a reference source for years to come.

By Steve Bird In her newest book, What Could Possibly Go Wrong??? – How to go from completely clueless to totally prepared, Jane covers virtually every topic of importance in regards to survival and sustainability in our uncertain times. She covers topics such as weather disasters, pandemics, nuclear disasters, CMEs, tornadoes, mental preparedness, self-defense, the survival mindset, health and hygiene, fitness, medical and first aid, food preparedness, survival gear, sustainable living, finances, survival skills, and even the government’s role in the world in relation to what potentially lies ahead. What makes Jane’s work unique? Well, first of all, not only is it a very entertaining and informative read, Jane also has the ability to look at things from a woman’s perspective. I’ll admit, if I were to write a non-fiction about preparedness, it would more than likely contain myriad specifications and technical details on guns, weapons, tools, vehicles, equipment, etc., potentially alienating many female readers from what is all too often a male-centered topic. Jane on the other hand has the ability to present her point of view from the perspective of a woman who has lived on both sides of the preparedness fence, both physically and mentally. That’s not to say her book isn’t for men also, it is very informative and entertaining regardless of the background and chromosome makeup of the reader, but her work definitely approaches the subject of survival and preparedness for a much wider range of audience than many other non-fiction books of the genre.Without giving too much away, I’ll leave you with the strongest possible recommendation for Jane’s new book. It is available in both paperback and eBook formats, however, even if you download the Kindle version, I recommend getting the print version for your bookshelf. You know, for just in case... you’re electronic device might not always be available in a post-event world.I liked it so much I even blogged about it at: http://stevencbird.com/2015/10/survivor-janes-what-could-possibly-go-wrong/

Clearly an addition for your preparedness library By Bill Reese What Could Possibly Go Wrong? is a great question to ask if you are new to preparedness or "prepping". The question itself causes one to think of the different options, whether manmade or natural, that could possibly affect one's future.I was honored upon receiving a personal email from Survivor Jane asking me to review her new book. Jane has always been helpful to me and the preparedness community in a way that is matched by few. While she would not like me saying these things, she is very humble and constantly reminds us all that "we are all in this together". This was one of the main reasons why I had to agree to do the review. In, What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Jane starts out with her tragic personal story which led her down the path of preparing. Some of you may remember her from the fourth season, episode two of National Geographic's Doomsday Preppers, especially when reminded of the hot pepper seeds on the eye of the stove and her and her husband, Rick, hauling butt to get out of the house because it was burning their eyes. For those that want to know, the episode was entitled, "You Said It Was Non-Lethal".After telling her story in great detail, Jane enters into the different factors that could cause one to think. These factors revolve around both natural and man-made disasters from Pandemics to Tornado Preparedness and EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) to full blown Nuclear Attack. She does a great job of explaining the details and what could go wrong if something along these lines happened. While my personal favorite chapters of the book were under the section of Gut Instinct (go figure), I feel that every section within the pages were necessary. Each one of the chapters are crammed packed full of information, insights and suggestions which force the reader to take action, if no other way but using their brain. Additionally, the chapters give you the subject, detail around that subject, and then what you can do to prepare for the subject matter.Jane has delicately addressed some other issues such as hygiene to include things that she has personally tried. These stem from brushing teeth without common toothpaste to using bananas to wash her hair to cleaning one's self after using the bathroom using what she has created called a "Hiney-Hydrant"™. This device is used in place of toilet paper and apparently does a great job of cleaning the buttocks after one uses the toilet. While I do not know if I will try one of these, it might be worth looking into. One of the big factors and benefits of this book is not just the great reference it provides, but I think it would be a great social disrupter. This means, you could give this book to someone you are trying to discuss preparedness with and totally disrupt their existing thought patterns. I do not mean that in a bad way as this could truly enlighten someone who has been or is riding the fence of preparedness and also gives them a great starting point.Closing thoughts on this book involve the subtitle. While I could go on and on about the benefits of this book and how Jane ends each chapter with a cute little phrase, but the words "How To Go From Completely Clueless To Totally Prepared" sum it all up in a short description. Make sure you add this book to your library and purchase it for someone else this Christmas season (yes, I did).
