This isn't the Cowboys and Indians, West of the movies, but an historically accurate portrayal of the development of our current society and the development of journalism and organized labor. This exciting and informative story is shown through the eyes of a naive, but idealistic young reporter looking into the abuse of Chinese workers in the mining industry of a very rough Wyoming. The book is filled with colorful characters all with a unique voice.

By sabo16 In 1885, after ten years of labor strife in the isolated coal camp of Rock Springs, Wyoming, nearly 50 Chinese workers were shot down by the white miners. The slogan of the time was, "The Chinese Must Go!" This actual event is the background for an exciting novel. The story is told from the point-of-view of a young newspaper reporter who gains influence with the territorial governor and reports on the event and its dangerous aftermath.
