About the Author Mike Hainzinger started his teaching life as an English instructor in Taiwan. He went on to gain his Chinese Teaching Certificate from the Confucius Institute. He has since held posts teaching and developing course materials at the University of Chicago and Prairie State College. He currently teaches Mandarin Chinese at Joliet Junior College in Illinois. He's also a regular contributor at language teaching conferences. His other classroom is his garage at home where he shoots his addictive video lessons. Bad discs By msv I like the lessons they are great; however, the disks came damaged (the inserts for disks are obviously made of soft plastic that left sectors of at least one disc dirty, damaged…I was able to watch lessons up to 69 without any problems. Then suddenly I got stuck at one point and the lesson could not continue. The picture became pixilated (made of squares) and there was a message in the upper left corner “skipping damaged area”. There was no way to continue watching lessons.I checked the surface of the disc “course book season 3” and it is smudged. From my experience of working in the plastic industry I immediately suspected the packaging. I checked the surface of discs that have not been opened and touched yet: they looked the same, dirty. I believe the discs are sent to customers in inappropriate material, soft plastic. Why weren’t discs packaged in plain carton envelopes?I did not have the luxury to stay at home and just watch Chinese with Mike. I had no idea that an issue would arise for which I would want this set of lessons replaced with a set with discs that could be watched from beginning to the end. Therefore I feel I have the right to send this set back to be replaced with one that has working discs.How can Amazon help in this case?
