About the Author
Kelley Grant grew up in the hills of Ohio’s Amish country. Her best friends were the books she read, stories she created and the forest and fields that inspired her. She and her husband live on a wooded hilltop and are owned by five cats, a dog and numerous uninvited critters. Besides writing, Kelley teaches yoga and meditation, sings kirtan with her husband, and designs brochures and media.

Sultry, Exotic, New Fantasy By FairySockmother A rich, exotic, culture forms the backdrop for this expertly concocted mixture of murder, romance, and intrigue. When Sulis, the daughter of a merchant, accepts her calling to dedicate her life to the Temple, she leaves behind her twin and confidante, Kadar. They are not so much separated by distance but by the cultural restrictions that surround Temple pledges. But before long, Sulis finds herself deeply involved in the machinations of Temple politics unsure who she can trust except for the feli who has bonded with her, the great cat, Djinn.Sulis knows that the Temple offers both good and evil, truth and lies, and adulation and death because her mother died there but she is overwhelmed by the forces she finds at work. Can she and Djinn sort out the truth before, she, too, loses her life? The plot’s twists and turns keep the story moving and the characters are well drawn and appealing. Anyone who has ever known the warmth and comfort of fur and the soft kneading of sheathed claws will love Djinn and the concept of the feli! This was an absorbing, fast paced story. I can’t wait for the sequel!
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Intriguing place, time, and story By Bekzerk Thankfully, this book was not another depressing post apocalyptic story. The theme and location are are intriguing and thought provoking. A good read.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Her storytelling is spellbinding By Melody You would not know this was Ms. Grant's first foray into the fantasy genre if you had not been told. The story is well woven and powerful. Her characters are very human and yet otherworldly in their interactions making this a page turner. Be prepared to forget the passing of time and lose yourself in the intensity of upheaval on many levels. Be ready to love the characters as they struggle to make headway against the way things have always been done. You will want the sequel.
